Women's sweaters, knitwear and cardigans

Women's merino wool sweaters and knitwear

We knit our women's wool sweaters and knitted pullovers in our own knitting mill in Oulu, Finland. The range includes merino wool sweaters, knitted pullovers, turtleneck and half zip knits, knitted hoodies and cardigans. Merino wool breathes and helps regulate temperature, so a wool sweater keeps you warm outdoors without feeling stuffy indoors.

Fine merino fibre feels soft against the skin for most people. Skin sensitivity varies, however – if you usually find wool itchy, choose a dense, smooth knit or wear a thin merino top underneath.

Knitted in Oulu

Our wool sweaters and knitted pullovers are knitted in our own knitting mill in Oulu. Our knitting machines knit each garment directly to shape, so very little material is wasted. The cardigans in the range are made in Europe.

How to choose a women's wool sweater

Choose your sweater based on where you will wear it. A thin, dense knit works well at the office and for layering over a top or a merino base layer. A thicker knit is warm enough on its own in cool weather and outdoors. A turtleneck keeps your neck warm without a scarf, and a cardigan is an easy extra layer when the temperature changes. Each product page shows the material, knit and fit of each style.

A merino wool sweater for everyday wear, work and the outdoors

Merino fibre absorbs around 30% of its own weight in moisture, so a wool sweater feels dry even when you are on the move and the temperature changes. That is why the same knit works on a workday, on an evening walk and at the cabin. The range includes both thick winter knits and lighter knits for spring and summer.

Mulesing-free merino wool

We use only mulesing-free merino wool in all our products.

Caring for your wool sweater

Merino wool naturally resists odours, so you don't need to wash your sweater after every wear – airing it is often enough. When it does need washing, follow the care label, use a wool detergent and dry it flat – wet knitwear stretches under its own weight. Pilling is a natural property of wool and decreases once the loose fibres have come away. Remove pills with a fabric shaver or a clothes brush. You'll find detailed instructions in our merino wool care guide.
