Absolutely perfect for my 7-year-old: snug enough that it actually stays on the neck and the back of the neck doesn't peek out bare, for example. It can also be pulled up well to protect the face in hard frosts without slipping down. Doesn't itch at all, my child thinks it's the best neck gaiter they've had!

The only neck gaiter my child agrees to wear in winter, because it doesn't itch and is nicely thin. They hold up well in a delicate wash. Even in a regular wash, if you put them in a laundry bag.
